Confusion over Brexit
THE ongoing saga of Brexit is an issue which I have never really been able to understand and something that most of us have become bored with.
We don’t actually appear to have any voice in deciding what happens, as all the leading political parties appear to have a different stance, apart from Labour, who don’t appear to have an opinion one way or the other.
It would appear to be a very costly exercise and redirects funds away from projects that should be prioritised before funding already wealthy politicians to live an even more lucrative lifestyle.
Whilst it is understandable that this issue needs a conclusion, surely public money would be more effectively utilised to fund our NHS which, incidentally, is the envy of all other countries, and provides a fantastic service, with limited resources.
The emergency services also require extra funding to allow them necessary equipment to carry out essential front-line duties, and the latest attempt to apportion any blame to fire workers (who were short of necessary equipment) for the Grenfell incident, when it is clearly a policy issue, coupled with the corrupt individuals who supplied sub-standard building equipment, is scandalous!
Brexit will eventually make a difference, which is why there is so much coverage of it by the media, but when it is all resolved, perhaps the ruling government should prioritise public spending in the direction of issues which are far more important?
