Microbiology laboratory ready to double in size
AMICROBIOLOGY laboratory is poised to double its workspace at Sci-Tech Daresbury following a record year of growth and a surge in demand for its services.
For the second time in just over a year, Perfectus Biomed will be increasing its presence at the Techspace One building.
The firm supports companies by providing microbiology testing with a variety of specialities.
Clients are based worldwide and are involved in the wound care, cosmetic, medical device, pharmaceutical, biocides and orthopaedic sectors.
A spokeswoman for Langtree, one of SciTech’s key partners, said demand for Perfectus Biomed’s microbiological testing services has doubled in 12 months, and the company’s range of services has expanded.
It has also recruited 10 staff in the last year, introducing senior roles such as a business development manager and a laboratory manager.
Dr Sam Westgate, Perfectus Biomed chief executive, said: “It has been a record year for our team and this organic growth has meant that we are now starting to outgrow our current workspace.
“As a business, we feel that the time is right to take the next step in our development as we look ahead to the future and prepare to expand our offering even further.
