AN exhibition at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn, by an amateur photographer has been extended due to its huge popularity with local people.
The exhibition by Roy Gough, from Runcorn, was originally due to finish on November 29 but will now run until Sunday, January 12 2020.
Roy acquired his first camera in 1947, aged 11. As his passion for photography grew, he set up his own darkroom to develop films and print pictures.
Since then he has taken thousands of photographs, capturing images of Runcorn and beyond.
This exhibition reflects his particular interest in railways, buses, canals and street photography.
Roy has always enjoyed photographing people, at work and going about their everyday lives.
Over the last 70 years, his photographs have reflected the changes in our town and society as a whole. His photographs feature in many books on local history and he is a social historian, as well as a keen amateur photographer.
Roy is donating all proceeds from the sale of his pictures to Macmillan Nurses.
The Brindley Gallery is free to visit and is open Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm.
