Goldmine on target to seal cup triumph

Another win for the Cricketer’s thanks to doubles pair John Mulholland & Graham Fenny then drew them level but the brow then moved up a gear and took the next four games through Dave Powell & Ray Linger, Chris Bright & Paul Woodward, Chris Bright, and Dave Powel to give them the match.

Tony Ainsworth then managed to steal one back for the Cricketers’ but it was way too late.

● Ball at home to the Millfield

The Milly took a two game lead with wins from Ian Wall and Chris Taylor. Anthony Hall then pulled one back for the Ball only to see the Milly take another two games through Ian Wall & Adam Mellor and Keith Horabin & Chris Booth.

Martin Ball & Karl Whitfield then took another for the Ball and Billy Fox returned with a win for the Milly to take the match.

With only pride to play for the Ball came back to take the last two games with wins for Daniel Bishop and Martin Ball to keep the loss to a single game.

● Halton Stadium A at home to Halton Stadium B

In a rather one sided game the Stadium A won all 5 games in a row with wins from Ste Barrow, Shane Burgess despite a Joe Kell y (180), Kev Garcia, Robbie Gorst and Jonny Leather.

● Widnes Bowling Club A at home to Goldmine AA

Another one sided game saw the Goldmine AA win all five games in a row with wins from Karl Windisch, Luke Littler (18 Darts, 111 Checkout), Leon Littler, Terry Roach (103 Checkout) and Sean Bell.

● Widnes Bowling Club B at home to Mill Brow A

The Brow A took a two game lead through Clive Rule and Mike Callaghan.

The Bowler B then managed a win from Danny Magee (111 Checkout), but it wasn’t the Bowler B’s night as the Brow A came back with another two games from Kieran Stringer and Dave Powell to take the match.

● Hammer A at home to the Ball A

Anthony Hall took the lead for the Ball A and the Hammer A then drew level thanks to a win from Chris Ellis. The Ball A then took all three remaining games with wins from Martin Ball, Mark Tyrer, and Karl Whitfield (17 Darts) as they went through to the semi-finals.

● Ball A at home to the Goldmine AA

The Goldmine AA continued in the same form as their earlier quarter-final match by taking all five games with wins from Karl Windisch, Luke Littler (180), Leon Littler, Terry Roach and Sean Bell.

● Halton Stadium A at home to Mill Brow A

The second semi-final brought some excitement as the Brow take a two game lead with wins from Ant Hitchmough and Clive Rule. Back came the Stadium A with wins from Kev Garcia and Robbie Gorst to draw the game level going into decider and it was John Bowles who kept his nerve to take the match for the Stadium A.

● Hatton Cup Final

● Halton Stadium A at home to the Goldmine AA

The final was an extremely close encounter as the Stadium took the lead through Ste Barrow and the Goldmine AA immediatel­y drew level with a win from Luke Littler. Kev Garcia then put the Stadium back into the lead only to see the Goldmine AA draw level once again with a win from Terry Roach.

Into the decider and it was Sean Bell (17 darts) who kept cool to take the game, match and Hatton Cup 2019/20 for the Goldmine AA.
