Group takes country

-

ascent to Black Moor road for a short road walking section.

Following signs for the Senior Way to Cross Roads, they walked along a slightly busier road before taking the track to Hainworth.

Now losing the height that they gained, they dropped down to Damems railway station again crossing the railway.

Following the road they climbed up Harewood Hill before heading back via walled paths and the village of Mytholmes to finish at the top of the village of Haworth. The leader for this walk was Jacqueline Shepherd.

For the D walk, led by Clare Naughton, the group left Haworth passing the church and the Parsonage Museum and then commenced a fairly gentle steady climb out on to the moors, crossing the dam of the Lower Laithe Reservoir before some road walking through pretty Stanbury village.

It continued on footpaths in the direction of the Wuthering Heights associated Top Withens before descending on the Bronte Way to Bronte Bridge And Falls.

The group then followed the stream for some distance and then, walked through Penistone Hill Country Park on their return to the Christmas lights of Haworth. The group then witnessed a nativity play on their return to the village. The walk was 5.5 miles and approximately 450 feet of ascent.

The next coach walk is the trip to Loggerheads in Denbighshire, the first of the 2020 programme on January 5. It is followed on January 19 by a trip to Hollingworth Lake near Rochdale.
