Mill Brow get a knock back by the Bowler

ON Friday February 7 in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Mill Brow SC RTB League continued with Round 17.

Mill Brow Social Club at home to Widnes Bowling Club A

The Bowler took the lead after a Tex Bowles win, but the Brow replied with wins from Dave Powell and Chris Bright to take the lead.

The Bowler came back with a couple of wins from Danny Magee & Tex Bowles and Tommy Robinson & Alan Clark before Paul Woodward & Chris Bright got another one back for the Brow to level the match.

Alex McGill then put the Bowler back into the lead before Brian Spruce levelled it again for the Brow. And so into the last and deciding game it was the Bowler who prevailed as Scott Grady took the win to give the Bowler the match.

Widnes Cricket Club B at home to Simm’s Cross Institute

Ged McPartland (18 Darts) and Glyn Owen put the Stute into the lead, Carl Bryan then got one back for the Cricket Club, but the Stute then took the next four games on the bounce thanks to Ged McPartland & Bryan Dutton (16 Darts), Andy Abbott & Glynn Owen, Mick Cullen & Dave Evans, and Tony Green.

With the match already lost Jonny Leather and Andy Davies (17 Darts) grabbed two back but it was just way too late.

Majors Arms at home to the Goldmine

The game started with the Goldmine taking the lead though Colin Grindley.

Daz Attwood then levelled for the Majors before Alan Jones retook the lead for the Goldmine.

Michael Brown & Ryan Brown then levelled once again for the Majors only to see the lead go back to the Goldmine once again thanks to a win form Ray O’Connor & Alan Jones, but that was all the Goldmine had as the Majors grabbed the last four games with wins coming from Daz Attwood & James Tyghe, Kev Grice, Luke Carey, and Rob Gatcliffe giving them the match.

Widnes Bowling Club B at home to Widnes Cricket Club A

The Bowler took a two game lead thanks to Dave Cowan and Dave Pickles.

Rob Morris got one back for the Cricket Club before Mike Ruane & Mark O’Connor reinstated the two game lead for the Bowler.

The Cricket Club then saw the match off by taking five in a row with Rob Morris & Kev Baxter (15 Darts), Andy Atkin & Billy Cain, Danny Mellor, Mike Parr, and Andy Beddows taking the wins.

Cricketer’s Arms at home to the Millfield

Graham Fenny put the Cricketers into the lead only to see Billy Fox draw level for the Milly. John Mulholland then regained the lead for the Cricketer’s and once again the Milly drew level with a win from Ian Wall & Billy Fox.

The Milly then took the lead for the first time with a win from Adam Mellor & Chris Taylor, but this time the Cricketer’s drew level with a win from Brian Dwyer & Graham Fenny.

The Cricketer’s were done though and the Milly came through to take the last three games with wins from Ian Wall, Chris Taylor and Chris Booth to take the match.

Mersey Hotel at home to the Ball

The Ball shot into a three game lead following wins from Barry Highfield, Ste Whitfield and Nathan Savills, the Mersey’s Alex Jones & Rob Cotty got one back, but the Ball got back on track with a couple of more wins from Nathan Savills & Ste Whitfield (15 Darts) and Karl Whitfield & James Holden. Once again the Mersey won through Rob Cotty, but the Ball took it in their stride as Dan Bishop and then Scott Devaney took the last two games to seal their win.

Hough Green Social Club at home to Halton Stadium

The Stadium took a three game lead thanks to Alan Magee, Tony Jackson and Mike Callaghan.

Andy Macintosh & Derek Turton took one back for Hough Green, but that was their lot as the Stadium went on to take all the remaining games with wins from John Bowles & Alan Magee, Robbie Gorst & Tony Jackson, Joe Price, Robbie Gorst, and Emma Barlow to give them the match.

ON Monday, February 10 in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Widnes Bowling Club 501 League continued with Round 17 being played.

Goldmine B at home to Goldmine A

Goldmine A went into an unbeatable five game lead thanks to Leon littler, Luke Littler (19 Darts, 19 Darts, 180), Karl Windisch, Anthony Buckley & Luke Littler (16 Darts), and Chris Clarke & Scott Grady.

Barry Noonan & Gordon Stewart did manage to get one back for the Goldmine B despite Sean Bell & Karl Windisch (19 Darts), but it was then back to business as usual as the Goldmine A took the final three, thanks to Chris Clarke, Scott Grady, and Sean Bell giving them a fairly easy win.

Halton Stadium at home to Simm’s Cross Institute B

The Stadium took the first four games following wins from Alan Magee (19 Darts), Tony Jackson, Jonny Leather, and Tony Jackson & Joe Kelly.

Jorden Davies (180) & Andrew McCaffery then got one back for the Stute, but the Stadium had too much and took the four remaining games through Jonny Leather & Colin Rigby, John Bowles (16 Darts), Joe Kelly (180), and Joe Price to take the match.

Hammer & Pincers at home to Widnes Bowling Club.

There was no stopping the Bowler as they took all nine games and the match thanks to wins from Danny Magee, Rob Magee (19 Darts), Dave Gerrard, Rob Magee & Joe Batty, Scott Berne & Alan Clark (17 Darts), Joe Harrison & Tommy Robertson, tommy Robinson, Andy Beddows (19 Darts), and Joe Batty giving them a relatively easy win.

Simms Cross Institute A at home to The Ball

The Ball took a three game lead through Ste Whitfield, Ant Hall (180, 180), and Nathan Sivills.

Pairs teams Glen Owen (105 Finish) & Paul Batty, and Brian Dutton and Ray Dutton then pulled two back for the Stute before Karl Whitfield & Martin Ball took another for the Ball.

The Stute managed to take one more through Glen Owen, but the Ball were too strong and came through to take the last two games and the match thanks to further wins from Martin Ball and Karl Whitfield.

Millfield at home to the Mill Brow Social Club

The Brow took the match with wins from Mike Callaghan (180, 17 Darts), Clive Rule, Mike Callaghan & Ant Hitchmough (19 Darts), Clive Rule & Kieran Stringer and Dave Powell (16 Darts).
