Offer police views on crime
RUNCORN residents have been invited to have their say on the fight against crime in their area.
Chief Constable Darren Martland and police and crime commissioner (PCC) David Keane will be at Brookvale Community Centre on Northwich Road at 7pm on Tuesday, March 3.
The event will be the last stop in the senior duo’s fact-finding tour of the county in a bid to ‘bring back real neighbourhood policing to the county’.
A spokeswoman for Mr Keane said the public will have the chance to speak to the commissioner and chief about issues that matter most to their areas so they are policed appropriately.
Questions should be emailed to pcc@cheshire. pnn.police.uk ahead of the event.
Commissioner Keane said: “It was fantastic to see so many residents engage in our events over the past few months and now it’s Runcorn’s chance to have its say.
“It’s vitally important that the police have a good relationship with the public they serve and are aware of your priorities.
“These events are providing the opportunity to hear first-hand the issues that matter most to our communities.
“The events have already demonstrated the high levels of pride in our communities and residents’ appetite and passion for keeping their local area safe.”
CC Martland said:
“The community is key in helping us identify the local priorities and allows us to ensure that they are resourced appropriately to make our communities even safer.
“This is your chance to talk to us directly about the priority issues for your community and I hope to see lots of people engaging in the events and shaping our future priorities together.”
