Fly by wire for good cause

-

ADRENALINE junkies looking for a thrill need look no further than cerebral palsy charity Stick ‘n’ Step’s latest fundraising challenges.

The charity is calling on thrill seekers from across the North West to sign up and be sponsored to do the world’s fastest zipwire in North Wales or to tandem skydive from 8,000 feet above the Cheshire Plain or to abseil down Peckforton Castle’s picturesque medieval walls.

Jenny Snell, head of fundraising for Stick ‘n’ Step, says: “We are looking for people whose idea of fun is to freefall from an aeroplane or zip through the air at 100mph or dangle 60 foot off the ground on an abseil rope!

“If any of those appeal to you or you are looking to get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself with something a little bit scary, please get in touch.”

The skydive is happening on July 18 at Skydive Tilstock, the event at Zip World, Penrhyn Quarry takes place on April 25 while the Peckforton Castle abseil is scheduled for

May 10. Minimum sponsorship for the skydive is £500, for the zipwire is £250 and for the abseil it is £150.

100 children from across the region now attend these sessions weekly at the charity’s Runcorn and Wallasey centres.
