Runcorn & Widnes Weekly News

We’ll fight on through this crisis

-

DEAR Reader,

Tough times lie ahead as the Coronavirus crisis gathers pace.

Never in the 144-year history of the Runcorn & Widnes Weekly News have we worked on a story such as this.

However, let me assure you of our determination to battle on through this period of uncertainty and continue to serve our readers as the number one source of news and information for the area.

This note is to assure you that we plan to keep publishing the Weekly News at a time when the community needs us more than ever,

I promise you that my journalists and I will continue to report in a balanced and accurate way and rely only on the soundest government sources for Coronavirus information.

And I promise too, that our pages in print and online will be open so that those who need help, can ask for it, and those who can provide help, can offer it.

Our world is changing and the Weekly News has to change with it.

The cancellation of sporting fixtures, the sad loss of the arts and entertainment scene, the decision to close courts they all affect our usual mixture of news, views and information.

However, we are working harder than ever. And we are convinced we can bring you a terrific Weekly News every week.

If you are worried about getting hold of your copy of the Weekly News then contact our newspaper sales team by calling 0333 202 8000 or by visiting newspapersubs.co.uk. We will do everything we can to help.

Please continue to send us your news stories to runcornwidnesnews@trinitymirror.com and keep on top of developments by visiting https://www. facebook.com/WidnesRuncornWN/ and the Halton section of the Liverpool Echo website.

I believe the role of the Weekly News has never been more important at a time when up-to-date and trustworthy information is absolutely crucial.

We are with you, our loyal readers, throughout this crisis - just like you’ve been with us down the decades.

Stay strong. Stay well. Adrian Short
