Exotic outfit helps charity challenge
IT cost him £60 but now a Runcorn charity fundraiser is hoping to use his custom-printed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry swimsuit and dance moves to support the town’s foodbank and help fellow townsfolk in crisis.
Ryan Andrew Snowball, 30, of Windmill Hill, told the Weekly News he bought the striking outfit for £60 after a couple of glasses of wine last June before going on holiday.
Having made several videos on the TikTok social media site, he was inspired to take on a dance challenge in aid of Runcorn And District Foodbank after finding a can of peaches he received from the service during a tough spell.
Ryan, who suffers anxiety and depression, is also the entertainer in his group of friends and happy to ‘make a t** of myself’ for a laugh.
He is now eager to put his hilarious antics to good use and has set a target of raising £500 for the foodbank, with a plan to celebrate by heading out in the unique garment in Runcorn Old Town when the crisis is over.
At time of writing he had hit £35. A comment from Miss Elesha Moses accompanying a £10 donation said: “Yes to the swimwear.”
Ryan said he admired Meghan and Harry.
He said: “I think they stand up for our generation.
“We’re known for the Royal family - it’s (the outfit’s) not something you expect to see on someone like me if that makes sense.
“They’re kind of like the independents of it all. He was a party person back in the day.
“He’s got the normal down to earth side to him and it’s something I think it’s something he’ll find funny.”
On the attire itself, he said: “I’d call it like a swimsuit.
“I was a bit shocked when I saw the invoice come through, I’ve probably still got the invoice, and I thought it’ll be a laugh.”
Discussing the serious side to the appeal, he said: “I started struggling getting bits from the shop - a lot of people aren’t in a position to donate things to the Asda buckets and things.
“I’ve had to use a foodbank before, where I’ve had to use that service.
“I was going through the cupboards, I found a tin of peaches, and on all things they write the dates.
“I thought ‘it’s come from the foodbank.
“If I’m struggling, they must be struggling.”
