Building closures

IN response to Government advice on COVID-19, Halton Borough Council is announcing some further building closures.

The Halton Direct Link offices in Runcorn and Widnes will be closed to the public until further notice.

A spokespers­on said: “The council apologises for the inconvenie­nce but we are sure that you will understand that we have taken this necessary measure to protect customers and staff.

“The service will continue to operate with staff dealing with enquiries on the telephone, by e-mail and via the website.

“There is so much you can do on our website, such as pay bills, report environmen­tal issues, view planning applicatio­ns, check bin collection dates, and use our Contact Us page to get in touch.

Please also note that the Municipal Building,

Runcorn Town Hall and Rutland House are not open to the public.

The council will make the decision to reopen buildings based on the Government advice at the time.

● As part of its ongoing response to the changing COVID-19 situation, Halton Borough Council has taken the decision to close all of its community centres to the public at until Sunday, April 26. These centres are: Upton Community Centre, Bechers, Hough Green, Widnes

Ditton Community Centre, Dundalk Road, Widnes

Castlefiel­ds Community Centre,

Village Square, Castlefiel­ds, Runcorn

Grangeway Community Centre, Grangeway, Runcorn

Murdishaw

Community Centre, Barnfield Avenue, Runcorn

In addition, the Upton, Windmill Hill, Halton Brook and Ditton Children’s Centres will also close.

All existing activities planned in the centres have been cancelled.
