Don’t hold back on our health funding

- Dave Aylott

THERE is not much positivity to be drawn from this issue, however, there are a few things that people can take on board to improve things, and make us possibly feel better.

The NHS, at last people in power must realise everything that we have all been saying for years, we are the envy of every other nation in the world for the system we have in place, and if nothing else, this disaster must make people in authority realise that there should be no holding back in the amount of resources put in to a system that is potentially life-saving.

The thought that front line people are dealing with this issue without appropriate equipment is both disturbing and unbelievable.

Personally, I believe that there should be no limit on the amount of money allocated to ensure the safety of us all, particularly in this awful situation.

The other points that maybe people should reflect on are that in a situation like this that we find ourselves all in, are the number of things we take for granted, going out with friends, meeting family members, watching football matches, living life without fear – these are all things that we have all done, and have not thought twice about.

This is something that has been temporarily taken away from us.

To get round this, I have become involved in a WhatsApp group with friends that I have known forever, this helps my sanity (I think?).

This is the best I can come up with under the present circumstances, apart from having a positive attitude, and getting on with life.

When, and not if, we come out of the other end of all of this, maybe we will all become a bit more appreciative of what we have, and all become more unselfish, understanding and tolerant of others.
