WOMAN OWNS UP TO ONLINE VIDEO BIGFOOT PRANK:

-

A19-YEAR-OLD from Runcorn has unmasked herself as being behind a spate of Bigfoot sightings on Merseyside.

Ellie Marie Whitby managed to persuade her mum to dress up as the mythical creature and film her stalking the woodlands of West Kirby and Delamere Forest.

Ellie, who bought the costume online, uploaded some of the footage of her mum to several US-based Bigfoot believers groups on Facebook who confirmed that the film showed a genuine Yeti.

She said: “My favourite response was from one guy who said, ‘Ellie, I can with 100% certainty say that is a forest being.’”

The idea to dress up as Bigfoot came as a result of there not being much to do during lockdown, Ellie said, and also because she is currently on a gap year and unable to travel because of the pandemic.

She said: “I’ve been doing YouTube and freelance film on the side because I want to get into film making and entertainment.

“However, I’m still not 100% sure how I managed to convince my mum to dress up as Bigfoot and chase me around the woods but she’s quite crazy, like me.”

19-year-old Ellie Marie Whitby from Runcorn admitted she and her mum had been behind the Bigfoot hoax in West Kirby, Delamere and

Runcorn The response both internationally and locally that Ellie has had to her videos has been positive.

She said: “Our town has a Facebook group for people to join.

“People started posting in that when they said they saw me or my mum dressed as Bigfoot.”

One of the posts from locals who spotted Bigfoot said: “My son and his carers went for a walk in Town Park and came across Big Foot [laughing emoji] No idea who it is”.

Despite being exposed as the hoaxer behind the Bigfoot sightings, Ellie is now thinking of her next film-making project.

She said: “I’ve ordered another suit, that’s all I’ll say!”
