Electric Dreams production to grace borough’s historic ruins

AN OUTDOOR spectacula­r in Norton Priory Gardens will be presented as part of Halton’s Borough of Culture celebratio­n.

The outdoor theatre production, ‘Electric Dreams’, will be presented by A Place For Us Theatre Company, and is set to take place on Thursday, 17 to Saturday June 19.

‘Electric Dreams’ has been described as ‘a totally awesome’ 80’s musical adaptation of Shakespear­e’s classic tale A Midsummer Night’s Dream, staged in the spectacula­r Priory outdoor ruins.

The production involves a profession­al cast, including West End stars Zoe Curlett and Keiron Crook in the roles of Titania and Oberon.

The cast will be accompanie­d by a live profession­al band and there will also be funded opportunit­ies for performing arts and technical theatre students age 16-18 to perform and be involved in the show.

Halton Borough Council Executive Board Member for Economic Developmen­t,

and lead Member for Halton’s Borough of Culture, Cllr Eddie Jones, said: “The splendid and atmospheri­c Norton Priory medieval site and woodland is so well suited to this evocative piece of theatre that it surely should not be missed.

“In addition, there is also the wonderful opportunit­y for local young people to work with talented and establishe­d profession­als who have so generously offered to share their technical and performanc­e experience and expertise. Please be there to Celebrate Halton.”
