Reef madness as rockers on the bill for Adams gig

-

ENGLISH rock band Reef has been announced as support on the bill for when Canadian superstar Bryan Adams comes to the the DCBL Stadium in Widnes this July 2.

To date the band has sold more than three million albums worldwide with their latest, Shoot Me Your Ace , entering the UK Top 20 this month.

Since forming in 1993, the group has released seven studio albums all of which have gone Top 40 in the UK, with the band’s first album Replenish achieving Gold status which, in turn, led to tours with the likes of Paul Weller, Soundgarden and the Rolling Stones.

If that was not enough their second album Glow in 1997, produced by George Drakoulias, producer of acts such as the Black Crowes and more recently music supervisor of the multi award-winning film Joker, soared to number one in the UK album charts and went platinum.

Glow also included the band’s biggest hit single to date Place Your Hands, The track continues to resonate with audiences the world over and was famously used as “It’s Your Letters’’ by Radio DJ Chris Evans on his cult TV show TFI Friday.

Since then, Reef achieved nine top 40 singles and five hit albums.

Their last release Revelation on Ear Records, also produced by George Drakoulias, propelled the band back into the charts in 2018, receiving some of the best reviews of their career while also seeing them appear on some of the nation’s biggest TV and radio shows including The One Show.

Whether headlining Hammersmith Apollo or playing at Glastonbury, the band relishes playing live.

Reef’s Gary Stringer said: “It’s really exciting for me to go out and to play and to look into people’s eyes who are ready to rock. You get on stage and throw that energy down and it comes right back.

“That’s how you get an exciting gig.”

Bryan Adams and Reef will appear in Widnes on Saturday, July 2.
