Motorcyclist admits to causing collision
AMOTORCYCLIST has admitted crashing a motorbike into a car. James Kehoe, 28, of Lathum Close, Prescot, was arrested after being admitted to hospital with what were initially thought to be serious injuries following a collision with a car on Ringway Road in Runcorn at around 1.30pm on Thursday.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said Kehoe was charged with driving without due care and attention, without insurance, without a licence, while disqualified and without protective clothing, namely a helmet.
She said he has pleaded guilty to all of the above, except the protective clothing charge which has been discontinued.
Kehoe is yet to enter any plea in relation to the following allegations: possession with intent to supply Class A cocaine, relating to an incident in Birmingham on February 18; attempting to possess Class B amphetamine; being concerned in the supply of Class A heroin; and being concerned in the supply of Class A crack cocaine.
The latter three drug charges relate to alleged drug supply activity in Merseyside and Cheshire between September 4 last year and June 9.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday. where he was remanded back into custody to be sentenced for the driving matters at Chester Crown
Court on Monday, July 11.
A 16-year-old boy from Bootle who was riding as a passenger on the motorbike when the collision happened suffered minor injuries and was taken to Whiston Hospital, and was arrested on suspicion of burglary in relation to the motorbike. He has been released under investigation.
Halton Road was shut at the junction with Ringway Road and Halton Court on Thursday afternoon while emergency services attended the scene and Cheshire Police roads officers completed their investigation.
A member of the public told the Weekly News an air ambulance had also landed in the area.
