Taxi charge rise proposal among latest public notices

COUNCILS across the Liverpool City Region have issued a series of public notices in the past seven days.

These are important documents keeping citizens across the local authority areas informed of their decision making.

From planning applicatio­ns, to bins, to parking, councils are duty bound to make a public record of their intentions.

Here are some of the movements being made in your area:

● Road closure (Liverpool)

Cummings Street in Liverpool will be shut from October 23 for a period of up to almost five months as building work is completed.

Liverpool Council has informed that vehicles will be unable to use the route up to March 10, “or for such lesser period of time as determined by the earlier completion of the works to safely enable ongoing developmen­t works to be carried out.”

● Licence (Liverpool)

Turtle Bay Hospitalit­y Limited has applied for a variation of a premises licence for Turtle Bay, Unit 2-3, The Paradise Project, Hanover Street, Liverpool, L1 3D.

To vary the layout of the premises to include an adjacent unit.

There are to be no other changes.

● Estate claim (Liverpool)

Pursuant to the Trustee Act 1925 any persons having a claim against or an interest in the Estate of the above named, late of 67 Windsor Avenue, Liverpool, L13 8BB, who died on April 4, 2022, are required to send written particular­s thereof to the undersigne­d on or before November 30, 2023, after which date the Estate will be distribute­d having regard only to the claims and interests of which they have had notice.

● Licence (Wirral)

Applicatio­n has been made by Aldi Stores Limited to the Licensing Authority of Wirral Council for a Premises Licence for the Aldi Store at Woodchurch Road, Prenton, Birkenhead, CH42 8PG.

The proposed licensable activity is the sale by retail of alcohol for consumptio­n off the premises each day of the week between 6am and midnight.

Nick Bowerman and Jake Bailey of Stollies Cafe and Delicatess­en have applied to Wirral Borough Council for the grant of a Premises Licence in respect of the premises known as: StolliesB Of Unit 13 Coronation buildings, Liscard, Wallasey CH45 4NE for the following Licensable Activities:- Nature of Licensable Activity. Sale of alcohol for consumptio­n on the premises and retail sales-Monday to Thursday 9am6pm, Friday to Sunday 9am-10pm.

● Licence (Wirral)

Golfo Migos, owner of Indigo Cafe, has applied to Wirral Borough Council for a new premises licence at 136 Bedford Road, Rock Ferry CH42 2AS to: host small live music events TuesFri 6pm-11pm and Sat, Sun 10am11pm; one-off performanc­es such as plays Tues-Fri 7.30pm-10.30pm and Sat, Sun 10am-11pm; and to sell alcohol Tues, Wed, Sun 12pm9.30pm, Thurs 12pm-10.30pm and Fri, Sat 12pm-11pm.

● Licence (Sefton)

Aztec Interiors Northern Ltd trading as Fire Doors and Frames Ltd of 18 Bridge Street, Berry Street Industrial Estate, Bootle, Liverpool L20 8AL is applying for a licence to use 18 Bridge Street, Berry Street Industrial Estate, Bootle, Liverpool L20 8AL as an operating centre for 1 goods vehicle and 0 trailers.

● Licence (Halton)

Notice is hereby given that on the September 28, 2023 Alliance Property Holdings Limited applied to Halton Borough Council for a Premises Licence in respect of premises Martins, 36 Bechers, Widnes WA8 4TE.

The proposed licensable activities are:- 1. The supply of alcohol on Mondays to Sundays between the hours of 6am and 11pm.

Any representa­tions by a responsibl­e authority or any other person regarding this applicatio­n must be received in writing by;- Legal Services Licensing Section, Halton Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, Kingsway, Widnes WA8 7QF no later than the 26th October 2023 stating the grounds for representa­tions.

The register of Halton Borough Council and the record of the applicatio­n may be inspected at the above council address during normal office hours.

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an applicatio­n.

The fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for the offence is unlimited.

● Hackney tariffs (Knowsley)

Notice is hereby given that Knowsley Metropolit­an Borough Council in accordance with Section 65 of the Local Government (Miscellane­ous Provisions) Act 1976 proposes to vary the existing maximum hackney carriage tariffs and extra charges from October 30, 2023 and until further notice as below: Proposed tariffs and extra charges

Tariff 1 - For all journeys beginning after 06.00 hours and ending before 21.00 hours every day unless shown below. £3.20 for the first 330 yards or

permitted less then, 20p for each succeeding 190 yards (or less) up to 40,480 yards then, 20p for each succeeding 300 yards (or less) and, 20p each 50 seconds waiting charge (or less).

Tariff 2 - For journeys beginning after 21.00 hours and ending before 06.00 hours and all public holidays except Christmas and New Year. £3.75 for the first 330 yards or less then, 25p for each succeeding 190 yards (or less) up to 40,480 yards then, 25p for each succeeding 300 yards (or less) then, 25p for each 50 seconds waiting charge (or less).

Tariff 3 - For all journeys beginning 18.00 hours Christmas Eve, all Christmas Day, all Boxing Day and until 06.00 on 27 December and again from 18.00 hours on New Year’s Eve, all of New Year’s Day and until 06.00 hours on 2 January. £4.80 for the first 330 yards or less then, 30p for each succeeding 190 yards (or less) up to 40,480 then, 30p for each succeeding 300 yards or less then, 30p for each 50 seconds waiting charge (or less).

Permitted extra charges - (i) 50p as a single discretion­ary charge for all journeys where more than 4 passengers are carried in the vehicle, (ii) £40.00 fouling/soiling charge, (iii) All tolls both to and from the requested destinatio­n (including Tunnel, Motorway, Bridge and Airport Tolls).

For journeys that end more than four miles beyond the borough boundary (the regulated distance) the driver must agree a fare or rate of hire with the hirer before the start of the journey.

If the meter rate is agreed, it will be on a manual override and will be displayed as an ‘E’ on the meter.

This rate will equate to Tariff 2’s usual charges.

The driver is prohibited from making any additional charge for making payment by electronic means.

A copy of this notice can be viewed at Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle licences (knowsley.gov.uk).

Any person wishing to object to these proposed variations should do so in writing stating the reasons to the Community Protection Manager (and marked “Taxi Tariff Variation”) at the address shown below within 14 days of the publicatio­n date of this notice.

If any objections are received and not withdrawn the council will consider them and if a decision is made to approve the proposed variations, set a date not more than two months from the proposed implementa­tion date stated above when the new tariff will be in force, whether as shown or amended from the above.
