TRACK YOURSELF

-

While there’s not much you can do about crossing the path of someone who might harass you, you can take steps to help reassure you in case something should happen. Running app Strava introduced the feature Beacon for premium members last year. When it’s activated, you can send a secure URL to a partner, friend or family member that lets them see where you are on an online map. So, should it happen that you stray from your regular route or aren’t home when you planned to be, someone close to you will be able to check in and ensure everything’s as it should be. Chances are, you’ve simply mixed up your course or popped to the shops for a postrun snack, but in the unlikely case that things have taken a turn for the sinister, somebody will know.
