Span­ning the Nam Khan River near the cen­tre of the city of Luang Pra­bang, the bam­boo bridge con­nects to wilder­ness trails and of­fers stunning views of the Luang Pra­bang Moun­tain Range and an­cient tem­ples. ‘ It’s one of my fa­vorite runs in South­east Asia,’ says Kaitlin Van­der­bas.

FAST FACTS

The lo­cal com­mu­nity re­builds the bam­boo bridge each year when the wa­ter of the Nam Khan River is low, in Oc­to­ber. The bridge gets swept away when lev­els rise dur­ing the rainy sea­son from May to Septem­ber.
