THE EXPERIENCE

The beaches near this seaside town in the Western Cape are sandy and make for good running (up to three hours) at low tide as the camber isn’t extreme. If you’re planning to go barefoot, watch out for mussel shells.

BEST TIME TO RUN

Before midday – the wind tends to pick up in the afternoons. The sunniest months are from August to May.

LOCAL FARE

There are a whole host of beachside eateries where you can reload the calories you’ve expended on your run. For coffee, breakfast or a light meal, head to Ginja Beanz Coffee Café.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, mountain biking (see gravity.co.za).
