THE POWER OF PARKRUN
For my 100th Parkrun, I asked my friends to dress up to make it a special occasion. Then I happened to see a post from a regular Parkrunner on the event Facebook page, asking everyone to look out for her granddad; he would be celebrating his 80th birthday that day and would be in his usual spot cheering us all on. So we stopped to wish him – Brian is his name – a happy birthday and gave him one of our party balloons. He looked astonished and asked, ‘How does everyone know?’ That’s the power of Parkrun.
