LEADING BY EXAMPLE

-

I started running in 2012 after agreeing to take part in a 10K charity run with one of my stepsons. Since then, I’ve done six more 10Ks and five half marathons, recently getting a PB of 2:04. I was delighted, but even more so when a friend of mine told me I’d inspired him to start running following a bout of depression. I’m following his progress week by week. It’s a great feeling to know I have made a difference to someone. Derek Clayton MBE, Colchester
