THE GOLDEN AGE

It was a real pleasure to see an article about older runners (RW, June). I had no idea just how good some golden oldies are. I took up running in my 60s and ran a 5:00:01 marathon at 71 years of age – one second too slow for a ‘good for age!’ I’m 78 now and would like to have a go at beating 5:30.
