Two Tunnels Half Marathon
We love the idea of this event. It’s a race that’s run four times a year and the next edition is in July. It’s 13.1 miles through the Bath countryside, but also features tunnel sections that comprise, say the organisers, the longest underground section of any race in the UK. The tunnels were part of the Somerset & Dorset Railway line, which closed in 1966. The Devonshire one is 408m long and the second, Combe Down Tunnel, measures 1,672m. Both are perfect for some subterranean overtaking. They’re well lit, so tunnel vision will not be an advantage. Bath, Avon, July 9, relishrunningraces.com
