Box breathing.

It’s a breathing technique designed to make you feel focused, yet relaxed.

You breathe in through your nose for four counts, hold for four counts, exhale through your mouth for four counts and then pause with your lungs empty for four counts, before beginning again. Go for five repetition­s. I imagine each four counts as one side of a square box, which helps with rhythm.

My first running retreat of 2020, thanks to Covid-19 putting the dampeners on those scheduled for earlier in the year. It was action-packed and socially distanced.
