SPOT THE SIGNS
1. Changes in weight – either sudden or gradual loss, or unusual fluctuations.
2. Changes in mental health – being more withdrawn, avoiding social situations, low mood or anxiety, difficulty concentrating.
3. Changes in activity
– in runners, this might include more frequent or rigid exercise patterns, even if they are ill or injured.
4. Changes in the reasons why you run – it may be running becomes a way to manage difficult emotions or unhappiness with your body image or your sense of self.
5. Changes in health
– increased vulnerability to illness, niggly injuries, fatigue, inconsistent performances. 6. Changes in attitudes to food – this might include cutting out major food groups, going for long periods without eating anything, bingeing, or vomiting after eating.
