O2 ABC gig spells further success for singer Ashley
A former Coatbridge College student is set to be showered with “Adulation” by music fans as she headlines a major gig this weekend.
Singer Ashley Collins, 29, takes to the stage at Glasgow’s O2 ABC on Saturday night and is thrilled to see her name top the bill.
This is the latest in a “stunning” period of success for Ashley after one of her singles, You’re The One, featured on a TV documentary and was nominated for Amazing Radio’s song of the year award.
East Kilbride woman Ashley also had a donut named after song Superdiva from her debut album Adulation at the NYC Deli in Glasgow.
Saturday will be the second time Ashley headlines at the O2 ABC and she can’t wait to perform in front of her fans.
She said: “I am so excited to be doing the O2 for the second time around and I have two fabulous supporting acts who are new on the pop scene, 13-year-old Angel Gold and 15-year-old Lucy Brown.
“I will be performing all of my fans’ favourite songs from my debut album Adulation and my current single You’re The One, which was recently nominated for Amazing Radio’s song of the year award.
“The single and album’s success has been just stunning and the roll I’ve been on just keeps on going with another headline gig.
“It’s very exciting to see my name above the door and I’m just looking to build on each gig.
“Shows like this are great exposure for my music and headlining is a dream come true.
“I am hoping that all of my dear fans that I met on my recent Glasgow high school tour will be there on Saturday night.
“I am also looking forward to the after show party as I’m a bit of a party animal!”
Ashley added: “Singing and performing have always been my passion and I’m riding on the crest of a wave at the moment.
“My family and friends are all very proud of me and I am so happy to be living the dream.
“Even just hearing my songs getting played on the radio, or on the Baby Faced Bride television documentary, is wonderful and sometimes I still have to pinch myself because of everything that I have achieved so far.”
