Mem­bers of St Oswalds’s Epis­co­pal Church in King’s Park were fu­ri­ous over their church be­ing des­e­crated by van­dals, and asked for “the curse of God” to af­fect those re­spon­si­ble.

Ruther­glen Com­mu­nity Coun­cil were on the hunt for new mem­bers, or else the area wouldn’t be fully rep­re­sented.

The on­go­ing drought started to af­fect sports clubs through­out Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang, as they were banned from us­ing wa­ter and the ef­fects were “dis­as­trous.”

Hun­dreds of lo­cal school­child­ren were sent home af­ter teach­ers at Cathkin High and Stonelaw High called a one day strike.

Glen­cairn en­joyed a 2-0 win over East Kil­bride in a League Cup tie.
