Thistle’s fine for boys club

Rutherglen’s Partick Thistle Boys Club had enjoyed some double success on a trip to Dumfries & Galloway in 2004.

The club’s 11s (pictured above) and 12s teams had taken part in a competition organised by Heston Rovers youth football club.

A total of 28 teams competed in the contest - with the 1992-born team defeating the hosts 3-0 in the final, and the 1993-born side winning their trophy too, after beating Carlisle A in a penalty shoot-out.
