St Cuthbert’s Episcopal Church in Cambuslang were delighted after a special vestry meeting, as they will have a new priest.

Rev David Jasper, currently at St Mary’s in Hamilton, will be joining St Cuthbert’s for an interim period of one year, starting on November 30.

The church are having a pie and peas quiz night on November 7, at 7.30pm. All welcome.

On Tuesday, November 2, King’s Park Church is the venue for the local Churches Together meeting which will be a Pie, Peas and Picture evening.

The film to be shown is The Hiding Place which tells of how the Ten Boom family suffered arrest and persecutio­n in concentrat­ion camps following their efforts to hide persecuted Jews after the Nazi invasion of Holland.

This is a true story of the triumph of faith under remarkable circumstan­ces. All welcome for a donation of £5.

St Bride’s Parish Church in Cambuslang has a busy few weeks ahead.

They will host a table top sale on November 9, and a family night on November 15.

They will celebrate St Andrew’s Night on November 29.

Stonelaw Parish Church is getting ready to hold a table top sale this weekend.

This will take place in the Church Halls on Dryburgh Avenue on Saturday, November 1, from 10am1pm.

There will be Christmas crafts, home baking, jewellery, new to you clothing, hand crafted goods, a tea room and lots more.

A spokesman said:“Please come and join us. Everyone is welcome.”

There’s a couple of events scheduled soon at Fernhill and Cathkin Church.

Upcoming events in Fernhill and Cathkin are:

November 29, Christmas Fayre, 10am-2pm.

December 18, Erskine Community Choir and Christingl­e service, followed by supper.

Croftfoot Parish is now holding two Sunday evening services each month, on the second and fourth Sundays.

A healing service will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm. The church will continue to have the healing hour from 7.30-8.30pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
