Kids have a scream!
Frightfully good fun at Friends’ party
There were scares aplenty for the Friends of Cambuslang Park last week.
The Friends held there annual Hallowe’en party in the Cambuslang Institute, and it was a great success with over 100 children attending with their parents.
There was a wide variety of costumes, with witches, a hula girl, cats, a doctor, superheroes and many more.
As well as other activities, the children enjoyed dooking for apples, decorating a cake with Hallowe’en features, pinning the tail on the monster, and Hallowe’en crafts with Project 31. To end the day Ian Cox put on a magic show to an enthralled audience.
During the event parents were able to sit and have a tea/coffee and a biscuit, juice and a biscuit for the children was also available Chairman Edward Cais said: “It was very busy on the day, and we were delighted that everyone had a great time.”
Tom Greatrex MP attended with his daughters, and he added : “It was great fun to be at the Hallowe’en party in the Cambuslang Institute along with many other parents with their assorted witches, wizards, black cats, superheroes and
skeletons.
“The children were obviously really enjoying the games, activities and magician – and it is a great credit again to the Friends of Cambuslang Park along with Project 31 for organising such a good event, free for local children.”
The Friends would like to thank Morrisons for the donation of a pumpkin which was used for a game, apples and treats .
They also acknowledged the support of the newly-opened Aldi at Gateside, who also donated apples. These donations help the Friends to keep costs down and continue to make their events free.
Thanks also go to those who supported the tombola and who gave donations on the day.
Edward added: “We would also like to thank Roberta the hall-keeper for all her help at the Hallowe’en event - she is a gem.”
