Jennifer’s weight loss is a class act

Student teacher loses over two stone

- Kenny Smith

A Castlemilk student has a weight off her mind, after shedding over two stone.

Jennifer Miller (21), who is a student teacher at Spittal Primary School, joined Weight Watchers in Castlemilk earlier this year, along with her mum June.

Jennifer had gained some weight after getting together with her new partner, and found that she had lost some of her confidence to stand in class and teach.

Jennifer said: “I wasn’t very happy with the way I was looking, and that’s what made me go along in the first place.

“I didn’t like the way I looked in pictures, and when my mum said she wanted to do it as well, that was good so we weren’t going in alone, and that made it much easier for us both.

“I started in the summer, and by the time I went back to uni, I was feeling much better. I got to my goal weight after losing 26lbs, but I’ve kept going and lost another four pounds, so I’m up to 30 all together.

“I feel like it’s changed my life, as I don’t feel as if I’m on a diet. Yes, it’s changed the way I think about food, as now I’m maintaining my weight.

“I know what I can and can’t have, and take it in moderation.”

Jennifer attends Lynda Kadegis’ class in King’s Park.

Lynda said: “I’m very proud of Jennifer’s achievement with her weight loss. Not only had she gotten to her goal weight, but she has adopted a new healthy eating routine, and new exercise regime that will see he maintain her weight in the long run.

“At Weight Watchers as well as helping people lose weight, we actively try to help people change their attitude towards food and exercise to set them up for life. Jennifer is a prime example that our plan works.”
