School competition is a big draw for firm’s 25th birthday
A Rutherglen firm is marking its 25th anniversary by offering one lucky primary school the chance to see its artwork transformed into a full scale wall mural.
Established in October 1989, Elevation Design is a local business specialising in bespoke exhibitions, set design and build, high quality shop-fitting and commercial joinery manufacturing.
To recognise its special anniversary the Rutherglen-based company is offering primary schools in the area the chance to brighten up an assembly or gym hall with artwork created by its pupils.
Jim Potter, founder and director at Elevation Design, said:“The team at Elevation Design wanted to mark this important milestone by doing something special.
“We decided the best way to do this would be to give something back into the local community.
“The wall mural is not only a great way to showcase local talent it will also bring a new lease of life into a room.
“We look forward to seeing the artwork and would encourage all schools in the area to get involved.”
The artwork can be designed by an individual, group or class and the winning poster will be transformed into wall art for either a school assembly or gym hall.
Jim added:“We don’t want to limit the creativity of the pupils; therefore our only condition regarding the design of the poster is it must be fun and colourful.”
The winning artwork will be electronically rescaled and produced onto vinyl.
Jim and his team will then apply the winning artwork onto the school’s chosen wall.
In addition to the wall art, Elevation Design is also offering a runner-up prize of two large PVC banners.
Only primary schools in Rutherglen are eligible to enter the competition.
The artwork should be on paper no bigger than A3 and can be designed by a pupil, class or school.
Artwork should be sent to: Jim Potter, Elevation Design, Unit 6, 50 Cathcart Rd, Rutherglen, Glasgow, G73 2QZ.
All artwork must be entered by no later than Friday, November 28.
