Unit named after beloved resident

Family attend Ardencraig ceremony

- Douglas Dickie

A Castlemilk nursing home has paid tribute to one of its most loved residents by naming a unit after him.

David Hampson lived in Ardencraig Nursing Home for 10 years before sadly passing away in January this year.

As David was one of the longest residents in the home, staff at Ardencraig wanted to do something special to remember him.

Senior carer Susan Copland came up with the idea of naming a unit after him – “The Hampson Unit” .

Dav i d’s daught e r s, Geraldine Renfrew and Ann Clements, were invited along to unveil a plaque as part of the naming ceremony.

Care assistant, Marion Mackie, said: “He was well loved by all the staff and fellow residents.”
