Have your say on rent levels for next year
Council tenants in South Lanarkshire this week have a chance to give their views on their rent levels for the next financial year.
A consultation event will be held in the banqueting hall at the council offices on Almada Street, Hamilton.
This will take place tomorrow, (Thursday, December 4), at 6pm, with light refreshments available from 5pm.
All council tenants are welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to put questions to senior officers from housing and technical resources about how their rent is used in areas such as the council’s housing improvement programme priorities, as well as to hear the views of other council tenants from across South Lanarkshire.
Anyone wishing to book a place at the event can call Alistair or Lynn at the South Lanarkshire Tenants Development Support Project on 01698 527108 or email SLProject@tis.org.uk.
Tenant representatives from across South Lanarkshire have been meeting with the council and the South Lanarkshire Tenants Development Support Project since June this year to oversee the consultation process.
A priority for the group has been to get as many tenants as possible involved and provide their views.
A series of consultation events have already been held including local housing forums events throughout October and November.
Councillor Alex McInnes, chair of housing and technical resources, said:“It is crucial for tenants to get involved in the discussions on the rent levels for 2015-2016 and we hope that as many as possible take the opportunity to come along and participate.”
