A magical panto season
Several actors with Rutherglen and Cambuslang connections are set to tread the boards in pantomime this year - oh yes they are!
Former Stonelaw High pupil Jayd Johnson will be taking one of the lead roles in a production of Aladdin at Cumbernauld Theatre.
It runs from now until December 24 and will be the River City and Field of Blood actress’s first taste of a panto.
Croftfoot comic Des Clark will be treading the boards at the King’s pantomime again this year.
He’ll be playing Starkey, one of Captain Hook’s motley pirate crew, in this year’s show Peter Pan.
It runs from December 6 through until January 11.
River City actor Gary Lamont is in Treasure Island, which is running from now through until January 18 at the Pavillion Theatre.
The former Castlemilk High pupil will have an interesting challenge on his heads as he’s playing Mrs Birdeye in the panto.
Lastly, TV star John Barrowman, who stayed in Cambuslang in the 1970s, will be appearing in Cinderella, running from December 13 to January 4 at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow.
The Doctor Who star, who hosted the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games earlier this year, has been a panto regular in Scotland over the past few years.
Tickets for all shows are available now, and times and prices vary for each performance.
