Planning is key to a stress free festive season
Lists will help with buying presents
Christmas is on its way, so it’s time to start planning your festive fun. Grab a cup of tea, a notebook and pen, or the latest tablet technology, and start making those allimportant lists.
Split your notes into categories such as food and drink, presents, clothes, etc and then create a workable timetable that should help to keep everything well on track.
Consider what food you want early on. Many shops will deliver, but buying a little each week in the run-up to Christmas can spread the cost, just leaving those fresh items until nearer the time.
When it comes to gifts, it’s important to shop around. Have a look online to compare prices between suppliers and then hit the shops.
It’s nice to wander around during the festive season but make sure you at least have a couple of ideas so that you’re not too stressed.
Take note of the posting dates, especially abroad. Make a list of everyone you need to send a card to and make sure you have the correct name and address.
Now for the exciting bit – decorating your home. Bright, lively decorations really set the tone. Dig out your decorations and discard those that look tired and uninviting.
There’s plenty of choice out on the high street and you don’t have to spend the earth. You could even hand-make some decorations.
Remember to check your Christmas tree lights are working. There’s always one bulb which ruins it for the rest, but if you sort them out early, at least you won’t be panicking running around the shops looking for the right bulbs to ensure a sparkly festive season.
Now it’s time for a little pampering. Book your hair and beauty appointments in plenty of time and don’t leave shopping for your outfit until the last minute. Shopping in plenty of time will ensure you get the size, colour and style you want this Yuletide.
Booking your pre-Christmas meals with friends and family is also key. Restaurants get booked up quickly, so it’s important to organise your nights out in plenty of time.
Get the planning right and you can look forward to a relaxing and stress-free Christmas.
