You can help to save a life
Reformer readers have one last chance to donate blood locally before the end of the year.
The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service has announced its next visits to the local area will be to Croftfoot Parish Church, 318 Croftpark Avenue, on Wednesday, December 30, from 4-7.30pm.
They will return on March 10, to Rutherglen Town Hall, from 2-3.45pm and from 5.15-7.30pm.
The service will then be at the Cambuslang Institute, Greenlees Road, Wednesday, April 8, from 2pm to 3.45pm and 5.15pm to 7.30pm.
Male donors can give blood every 12 weeks. That’s approximately every three months or four times in a 12 month period.
Female donors can give every 16 weeks or approximately every four months.
Most people can give blood.
As long as you are fit and healthy, weigh over seven stone 12 lbs (50kg) and are aged between 17 and 66 (up to 70 if you have given blood before) you should be able to give blood.
