Ex-Stonelaw pupil man returns with choir

“The Trust gets a lot of support from the local churches but the workload they have is outwith that, and it’s good for the community to try and support them.

“In the past we’ve raised over £1,000 for them and we’re looking forward to raising some more.”

A graduate from the Royal Conservato­ire of Scotland, Andrew has performed on many occasions with Scottish Opera, as well as working with the composer James MacMillan, while he set up Caledonian Voices six years ago.

He said: “There’s not many opportunit­ies to sing in a chamber choir after you go into your twenties and go beyond the National Youth Choir of Scotland.

“We really wanted to create something that was of a high standard and we do about four concerts a year.

The Christmas concert is this Friday, December 19, at Stonelaw Church.
