South Lanarkshire Council Consumer and Trading Standards hosted a networkingg breakfast to mark two years’y membershipp of the Buy With Confidence (BWC) scheme.

South Lanarkshire has led the way in promoting legitimate business and consumer protection – with 40 businesses now on its books.

The event was an opportunity for current BWC members, as well as those considering joining up, to get together to receive further support and advice from the CaTS team, as well as colleagues in business support and regeneration.

Councillor Hamish Stewart, chair of the communityy services committee said: “Our aim has alwaysy been to build the scheme to become a ‘first stop shop’ for anyone looking to enlist a trader or business in South Lanarkshire.

“As any consumer knows, in this age of rogue traders and scams, choosing a reliable and trustworthy tradesperson or business can be a minefield.

“Buy With Confidence is providing the assurance that people need to make decisions and, to me, that is a resource that you just can’t put a price on.”
