Lollipop lady says farewell

A popular King’s Park lollipop lady was saying goodbye 20 years ago.

For two decades Doreen Collins had helped youngsters from King’s Park primary and other schools cross the road, but she was set to retire after two decades of serving the area.

She’d even won the title of Lollipop Lady of the Year back in 1978, and was a well-loved figure in the local community.
