A healthy boost

TSB picks charity to be its new partner

Cambuslang and Rutherglen’s community health initiative has been nominated as the nominated charity of the local TSB branches

Last week, Healthy ‘n’ Happy community developmen­t trust received £318.05, and comes as part of a new partnershi­p formed with the organisati­on in early April.

The branches manager Ryan Dolan and staff members Gerard McLaughlin and Greg Simpson have already taken part in a Hike It or Bike It fundraiser with all the proceeds contributi­ng to this initial donation.

Ryan said: “I’m delighted to announce Healthy ‘n’ Happy community developmen­t trust as our local charity partner in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.

“Our focus at TSB is to serve local customers and businesses in order to fuel local economies, and that’s why we’re launching a new approach to how we support charity and community.”

TSB have been a firm advocate of partnering their branches with local charities on a nationwide scale. In 2014, TSB’s partners raised nearly £290,000 for charities across the UK by holding fundraisin­g events such as cake sales, raffles and sponsored activities.

This year they are now in partnershi­p with 500 local charities.

Assistant director of Healthy ‘n’ Happy, Jane Churchill, revealed the organisati­on was excited by its new relationsh­ip with the bank.

She said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with TSB and are really looking forward to continued collaborat­ion with them.”

Healthy ‘n’ Happyis a registered charity with their main aim to make Cambuslang and Rutherglen the healthiest and happiest areas to work and live in Scotland.

It offers a range of services including: stress management, community support, a Bike Town initiative, a community radio station, family wellbeing services, and a range of volunteeri­ng opportunit­ies.

Healthy ‘n’ Happy was founded in 2002 and has received national and internatio­nal recognitio­n for their work over the years.
