TSB picks char­ity to be its new part­ner

Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen’s com­mu­nity health ini­tia­tive has been nom­i­nated as the nom­i­nated char­ity of the lo­cal TSB branches

Last week, Healthy ‘n’ Happy com­mu­nity devel­op­ment trust re­ceived £318.05, and comes as part of a new part­ner­ship formed with the or­gan­i­sa­tion in early April.

The branches manager Ryan Dolan and staff mem­bers Ger­ard McLaugh­lin and Greg Simp­son have al­ready taken part in a Hike It or Bike It fundraiser with all the pro­ceeds con­tribut­ing to this ini­tial do­na­tion.

Ryan said: “I’m de­lighted to an­nounce Healthy ‘n’ Happy com­mu­nity devel­op­ment trust as our lo­cal char­ity part­ner in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang.

“Our fo­cus at TSB is to serve lo­cal cus­tomers and busi­nesses in or­der to fuel lo­cal economies, and that’s why we’re launch­ing a new ap­proach to how we sup­port char­ity and com­mu­nity.”

TSB have been a firm ad­vo­cate of part­ner­ing their branches with lo­cal char­i­ties on a na­tion­wide scale. In 2014, TSB’s part­ners raised nearly £290,000 for char­i­ties across the UK by hold­ing fundrais­ing events such as cake sales, raf­fles and spon­sored ac­tiv­i­ties.

This year they are now in part­ner­ship with 500 lo­cal char­i­ties.

As­sis­tant direc­tor of Healthy ‘n’ Happy, Jane Churchill, re­vealed the or­gan­i­sa­tion was ex­cited by its new re­la­tion­ship with the bank.

She said: “We are thrilled to be part­ner­ing with TSB and are re­ally look­ing for­ward to con­tin­ued col­lab­o­ra­tion with them.”

Healthy ‘n’ Hap­pyis a reg­is­tered char­ity with their main aim to make Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen the health­i­est and hap­pi­est ar­eas to work and live in Scot­land.

It of­fers a range of ser­vices in­clud­ing: stress man­age­ment, com­mu­nity sup­port, a Bike Town ini­tia­tive, a com­mu­nity ra­dio sta­tion, fam­ily well­be­ing ser­vices, and a range of vol­un­teer­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties.

Healthy ‘n’ Happy was founded in 2002 and has re­ceived na­tional and in­ter­na­tional recog­ni­tion for their work over the years.
