Fernhill and Cathkin Church will hold their holiday club from Monday, July 6 until Friday, July 10. The club runs from 10am to 12pm for primary school age children. The theme this year is Polar Explorers and there will be having the usual mixture of games, songs, crafts and lots more. It is a free event and the church hope lots of children will go along and have fun. Registrati­on on the first day will be from 9.45am.

Croftfoot Parish Church will have its usual Rise and Shine childrens’club from August 3-7.

The church now holds two Sunday evening services each month. They take place on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

A healing service will be held onthe first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm.

The church will continue to have the healing hour from 7.30-8.30pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Now the summer has arrived, the garden team at King’s Park Church is taking advantage of the fair weather to work in the church garden. The church is grateful to this team of dedicated workers who work hard in spring and summer to keep the church garden looking beautiful. Extra help is always welcome and anyone interested is asked to meet the team at the church any Tuesday at 9am.

The Monday night prayer walks continue on Monday evenings, leaving the church at 7pm and walking for around an hour round the parish. Everyone welcome.

One activity for children that will continue during the school holidays is the Wednesday youth club. This is held in the Lesser Hall from 3.30pm to 4.45pm and is for children aged between five and nine.

Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe continues to operate.

The organisers invite the local community to go along and enjoy a drink and a tasty snack in warm, comfortabl­e surroundin­gs.

It is held in the church hall at the Kirkhill building on Cairns Road on Wednesdays from10am-noon.

Burnside Blairbeth Church are running a new service on the first Saturday of every month in the Rodger Memorial building in Kirkriggs Avenue. Messy Church is aimed at families. It starts with an hour of crafts and games, where those taking part might get messy, and is followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal together.

Burnside Blairbeth Church are holding a weekly coffee morning from July 2 until August 13 on Thursdays from 10am-noon in the Roger Memorial building at 1 Kirkriggs Avenue.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s weekly friendship cafe offers a warm welcome.

The cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am-noon in West and Wardlawhil­l Parish Church in Western Avenue, with children welcome.

Stonelaw Parish Church is inviting the local community into the building. The Meeting Place door is open to the public every weekday.

Visitors can drop in, drink coffee, browse the range of Fairtrade products and select a second-hand book.

The idea of the Meeting Place is to provide an informal, comfortabl­e location for people to drop by without any obligation. It is open every Monday to Friday, 10.30am12.30pm, and also Thursday afternoons 2-4pm, Wednesday evenings 7.30-9.30pm and from 10.30am–12.30pm each Saturday.

Flemington Hallside Church continues to welcome the public to its community cafe each week.

The cafe runs two days a week and is open from noon-2pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Flemington Hallside Church is in Hamilton Road.

The Salvation Army in Rutherglen has a number of clubs for kids running each week.

On Tuesdays there is Kids Alive! JAM (Jesus and Me). There are songs, crafts, games and a Bible story from 5-6.30pm for ages 5-11.

Each Wednesday the Kids Club, for children aged 5-11 also runs from 5-6.30pm.

There are fun, games and a tuck shop at Sunshine Corner toddlers group, which meets every Tuesday morning from 9.45-11.30am. It is open to all pre-school youngsters.
