Swim club splashes out

Rutherglen Amateur Swimming Club showed its generous side recently.

Members of the club, which trains in the South Lanarkshir­e Lifestyle pool in Eastfield, handed over £600 to a deserving

The club’s performanc­e squad swimmer Louise Bradley presented a cheque for £600, which will be given to two worthy causes, Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation, to Rutherglen Tesco store manager Harvey McGillivar­y and customer experience manager Coleen Cowie.

A club spokesman said:“It was money raised by the club at the bag packing which we hold annually at Tesco’s on Dalmarnock Road.

“We always give part of what we raise to Tesco charity of the year which this year was Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.

“The amount given this year was £600.”
