Swim club splashes out

Ruther­glen Am­a­teur Swimming Club showed its gen­er­ous side re­cently.

Mem­bers of the club, which trains in the South La­nark­shire Lifestyle pool in East­field, handed over £600 to a de­serv­ing

The club’s per­for­mance squad swim­mer Louise Bradley pre­sented a cheque for £600, which will be given to two wor­thy causes, Di­a­betes UK and the Bri­tish Heart Foun­da­tion, to Ruther­glen Tesco store man­ager Har­vey McGil­li­vary and cus­tomer ex­pe­ri­ence man­ager Coleen Cowie.

A club spokesman said:“It was money raised by the club at the bag pack­ing which we hold an­nu­ally at Tesco’s on Dal­marnock Road.

“We al­ways give part of what we raise to Tesco char­ity of the year which this year was Di­a­betes UK and the Bri­tish Heart Foun­da­tion.

“The amount given this year was £600.”
