All set for some fun in Cambuslang Park
Friends hold event
The Friends of Cambuslang Park are getting ready to hold their annual fun day this weekend.
Every August, the group organises an afternoon where the local community can go into the park, and enjoy a variety of activities for all the family.
This year, on Saturday, August 8,there will be Welsh pony rides, which will be from 2pm, and there will also be Shetland ponies to admire and pet.
Those looking to get active can work with Rutherglen boxing coach Archie Durie, who will be bringing a boxing ring with him.
For the youngsters, there’s furry fun with the Bunny and Co petting zoo, while there will also be face painting and hair colouring.
As well as a man making shapes with balloons, there will be a selection of inflatables, Dr Bike to give advice on bicycles, Healthy’n’Happy will have their Smoothie bike, Project 31, while rugby development and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture will be present with activities throughout the day. There will also be various stalls with tombola, hot dogs tea/coffee from 1pm to 4pm.

Sunday, September 6, Bark in the Park, 1.30pm, Cairns Road entrance.
Saturday, September 12, autumn clean up and planting, 2–4pm, Cairns Road entrance.
October - Ghost Hunt (date to be confirmed).
Saturday, October 31, Halloween event , 2- 4pm, Cambuslang Parish Church Kirkhill hall, Cairns Road.
Saturday, December 19, carol singing, 4pm, Cairns Road entrance.
