Stonelaw Parish Church is invit­ing chil­dren in P1-P7 to be­come‘Po­lar Ex­plor­ers’from Au­gust 10-14.

The club will last from 10.30am to 12.30pm and there will be games, mu­sic, drama and praise on of­fer. The Ice Theatre (movie time) will be in op­er­a­tion from Au­gust 10-13 and will last from 2.30pm till 4pm.

Stonelaw Parish Church is also invit­ing the lo­cal com­mu­nity into the build­ing.

The Meet­ing Place door is open to the public ev­ery weekday.

Visi­tors can drop in, drink cof­fee, browse the range of Fair­trade prod­ucts and se­lect a sec­ond-hand book.

The idea of the Meet­ing Place is to pro­vide an in­for­mal, com­fort­able lo­ca­tion for peo­ple to drop by with­out any obli­ga­tion.

It is open ev­ery Mon­day to Fri­day, 10.30am-12.30pm, and also Thurs­day af­ter­noons 2-4pm, Wed­nes­day evenings 7.30-9.30pm and from 10.30am–12.30pm each Satur­day.

Ruther­glen Old Parish Church are hold­ing Thought­ful Thurs­days each week.

This is a chance to spend a quiet time in the church, on Ruther­glen Main Street, from noon till 2pm.

Tea and bis­cuits will be avail­able, but bring your own packed lunch.

Croft­foot Parish Church will have its usual Rise and Shine chil­drens’club from Au­gust 3-7. The In­fu­sion group for teenagers will also start tonight (Wed­nes­day) at 7.30pm.

The church now holds two Sun­day evening ser­vices each month. They take place on the sec­ond and fourth Sun­days of the month.

A heal­ing ser­vice will be held on the first Tues­day of each month at 7.30pm.

The church will con­tinue to have the heal­ing hour from 7.30-8.30pm on the fourth Wed­nes­day of the month.

Cam­bus­lang Parish Church’s com­mu­nity cafe con­tin­ues to op­er­ate.

The or­gan­is­ers in­vite the lo­cal com­mu­nity to go along and en­joy a drink and a tasty snack in warm, com­fort­able sur­round­ings.

It is held in the church hall at the Kirkhill build­ing on Cairns Road on Wed­nes­days from10am-noon.

Burn­side Blair­beth Church are run­ning a new ser­vice on the first Satur­day of ev­ery month in the Rodger Me­mo­rial build­ing in Kirkriggs Av­enue.

Messy Church is aimed at fam­i­lies. It starts with an hour of crafts and games, where those tak­ing part might get messy, and is fol­lowed by a cel­e­bra­tion with a Bi­ble story and singing, fin­ish­ing with a two-course meal to­gether.

The church is hold­ing a weekly cof­fee morn­ing un­til Au­gust 13 on Thurs­days from 10am-noon in the Roger Me­mo­rial build­ing at 1 Kirkriggs Av­enue.

Ruther­glen West and Ward­lawhill Church’s weekly friend­ship cafe of­fers a warm welcome.

The cafe runs ev­ery Tues­day from 10am-12pm in West and Ward­lawhill Parish Church in Western Av­enue, with chil­dren welcome.

Flem­ing­ton Hall­side Church con­tin­ues to welcome the public to its com­mu­nity cafe each week.

The cafe runs two days a week and is open from 12-2pm on Wed­nes­days and Thurs­days.

Flem­ing­ton Hall­side Church is in Hamil­ton Road.

The Sal­va­tion Army in Ruther­glen has a num­ber of clubs for kids each week.

On Tues­days there is Kids Alive! JAM (Je­sus and Me). There are songs, crafts, games and a Bi­ble story from 5-6.30pm for ages 5-11.

Each Wed­nes­day the Kids Club, for chil­dren aged 5-11 also runs from 5-6.30pm.

There are fun, games and a tuck shop at Sun­shine Cor­ner tod­dlers group, ev­ery Tues­day morn­ing from 9am.

St Colum­bkille’s Parish Church in Ruther­glen are invit­ing peo­ple to get crafty.

For the church are run­ning a weekly craft group.

It meets ev­ery Tues­day from 11am un­til 1pm.

Ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude knit­ting, cro­chet, sewing and chat­ting.

Any­one who would like to join would be made welcome.

The church are then run­ning their First Tues­day Club. The club was es­tab­lished to pro­vide a fo­rum for peo­ple suf­fer­ing from De­men­tia and of equal im­por­tance for their Car­ers.

The club meets on the first Tues­day of ev­ery month be­tween 1.30pm and 3.30pm in the church hall.

St. Colum­bkille’s Charis­matic Prayer Group are con­tin­u­ing to meet weekly.

The fo­cus of Charis­matic Re­newal and a de­sire to be able to give Praise and Glory to the Lord. The group meet ev­ery Wed­nes­day from 7pm till 8.30pm in the Hall, room one.
