Pete tunes in with top radio track
Fresh from a slot at a top German music event, Coatbridge rocker Pete MacLeod had further reason to celebrate after his latest single was afforded significant airplay.
Electronic dance tune Minotaur was chosen as radio station XFM’s “breakout track”and played throughout the country last week.
The chilled-out Balearic summer beat is the first song from Pete’s eagerlyawaited second album and he is delighted with the exposure afforded to the sure-fire hit.
Pete, from Kirkwood, told the Ticket:“It was an honour to hear Minotaur had been chosen as XFM’s ‘breakout track’as that’s a pretty big deal for a musical artist.
“The truth is electronic music is more relevant and more interesting than ever.
“It’s where we are in 2015. People want to dance, and rightly so.
“Although I have written all of the songs for the second album on my acoustic guitar, it’s a different approach for me and I’m excited to let it loose.
“After 20 years of playing live and writing I felt it was time to literally mix things up a bit.”
The Minotaur airplay came hot on the heels of singer-songwriter Pete’s set at the Breminale Festival in Bremen, Germany.
After the gig, a delighted Pete tweeted:“Thank you Bremen... that was a joy!”
