Rutherglen Reformer

Last chance to enter photo competition

- Douglas Dickie

School pupils i n R u t h e rg l e n , Cambuslang and the surrounding areas have just seven more days to enter our fantastic Brian Logue Memorial competition.

We’ve already had some tremendous entries, and we decided to extend the deadline to give even more kids the chance to take part.

The competition honours Reformer photographer, Brian Logue, who sadly passed away on Boxing Day, 2013 after a short illness.

Brian was a much loved colleague and was a familiar face across the Rutherglen and Cambuslang area during his time with the paper.

He first worked for the Reformer in the 1970’s before returning in 2007.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Wednesday, December 9, so get snapping.

The competition is open to anyone of school age in Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Toryglen, Croftfoot, King’s Park or Castlemilk, or anyone who attends school in the area.

Last year the top prize was claimed by 10- yearold Robin Ashcroft from Castlemilk with a picture that showed her and her pals making a star shape with their fingers.

Send your entries in to news@rutherglenreformer. co.uk

Reformer editor Douglas Dickie said: “Brian was a fantastic man, a brilliant photographer and a pleasure to work with.

We’re delighted to keep his memory alive with the help of talented school children across the area.

“The entries we’ve had so far have been terrific, but you’ve still got time to enter, so make sure you get snapping.”

Please note, editors decision is final. The winner or winner’s parent/ carer must agree to a degree of publicity.

Usual Trinity Mirror rules apply.
