Slimmers shed 2302 stone in just 10 months

Groups of weight loss classes in Cambuslang and Rutherglen have lost an incredible 2302 stone in ten months.

Consultants of the groups of Lawburn and Eastfield centre, the Sun Inn, Beechwood and West and Wardlawhill Church calculated their total losses together after being inspired by the Slimming World Woman of the Year.

Cheryl Blythe from Basildon, Essex, lost 14stone in 18 months and was crowned winner at the Slimming World Woman of the Year ball in Birmingham ICC on November 7.

On the night, hundreds of consultants, managers and ten women, who had lost a phenomenal amount of weight, were celebrated for their achievements.

Carol Downes, from the Wardlawhill Parish Church, was inspired by the women on the night and calculated that members in Rutherglen and Cambuslang had lost 32,234lbs, which equates to 2,302 stone.

She said: “Their stories of their weight loss journeys were absolutely fantastic and the winner Cheryl Blythe, lost an amazing 14 stone in 18 months.

“She had been told by her GP she would die by the time she was 45 if she did not lose some weight.

“It got me thinking and I have asked the local Cambuslang and Rutherglen consultants to give me their total weight losses from their groups so far this year.

“I am absolutely staggered at the amount locals have lost in 10 months following the Slimming World healthy eating plan.

“Think of the difference Christmas is going to be this year for those who are healthier, slimmer, fitter and ready for the hectic time ahead.”
