Woman pleads not­guilty to as­sault

A woman faces var­i­ous as­sault charges af­ter al­legedly at­tack­ing a man.

El­speth Len­nie, of Chapel Street, Ruther­glen, is ac­cused of as­sault­ing the man by throw­ing a chisel at him.

Len­nie (48), is also said to have thrown a shoe at him, struck him on the body with a shoe and tried to punch him on the head.

She also faces al­le­ga­tions that she was in pos­ses­sion of of­fen­sive weapons – a chisel and a car jack.

Len­nie is fur­ther ac­cused of act­ing in a threat­en­ing or abu­sive man­ner, shout­ing, swear­ing and bran­dish­ing a chisel.

The of­fences are said to have hap­pened on June 28, this year, at Chapel Street.

This week at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court Len­nie de­nied the charges and trial was ad­journed un­til May 4, 2016.
