Woman pleads notguilty to assault

A woman faces various assault charges after allegedly attacking a man.

Elspeth Lennie, of Chapel Street, Rutherglen, is accused of assaulting the man by throwing a chisel at him.

Lennie (48), is also said to have thrown a shoe at him, struck him on the body with a shoe and tried to punch him on the head.

She also faces allegation­s that she was in possession of offensive weapons – a chisel and a car jack.

Lennie is further accused of acting in a threatenin­g or abusive manner, shouting, swearing and brandishin­g a chisel.

The offences are said to have happened on June 28, this year, at Chapel Street.

This week at Glasgow Sheriff Court Lennie denied the charges and trial was adjourned until May 4, 2016.
